We often have a specific food that we enjoy eating and we may eat it on a regular basis. Sometimes, however, it is the marrying of different types of foods and flavors that really make something that is a treat. That is the case with this special treat, as it combines multiple flavors to produce something that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
The name of the recipe is somewhat of a handful. These are Maple glazed bacon wrapped roasted carrots. Of course, it is perfectly descriptive of what you get and when you try these one time, it is a recipe that you will make over and over again. These are perfect with dinner, especially if you are planning on doing a little grilling. Of course, you can make them at any time and you might just love them enough that you make them at your next meal.
Ingredients:
2 pounds carrots, well scrubbed or peeled
1 pound bacon
1/4 cup maple syrup
Directions:
1. Wrap the carrots in the bacon.
In the Oven:
2. Arrange on a wire rack on a baking sheet and roast in a preheated 400F/200C oven for 20-30 minutes,
3. Halfway through, glaze them with maple syrup,
4. Bake until the bacon is crispy and the carrots are tender.
On the Stove:
2. Roast/Fry the bacon wrapped carrots in a skillet over medium heat 20-30 minutes,
3. Halfway through, glaze with maple syrup,
4. Bake until bacon is crispy and carrots are tender.
Wrap the bacon around peeled carrots:
Arrange carrots on a wire rack and roast:
Brush with maple syrup halfway through:
Serve with mashed potatoes and enjoy!
