When it comes to desserts, most of us probably have our personal favorites. One thing that all of us can agree on, however, is chocolate. It is the premium way to enjoy something sweet and when there is chocolate on the table in front of us, we can’t help but smile. It doesn’t matter if it is a chocolate pie, a chocolate cake or just a chocolate bar, there is nothing quite like it.
If you are somebody that enjoys chocolate, it’s time to up your game. This chocolate turtle poke cake is the perfect way to enjoy something sweet and to share a little bit of that love with your family or friends. This is a dessert that comes with a warning; once you try it, you may never want to give it up.
1 package chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients listed on the box.
12 ounces caramel sauce
½ cup mini chocolate chips
¾ cup pecan pieces
1 tub(16 ounces) chocolate frosting
Prepare cake mix according to package directions, and bake in 9 x 13 pan. Let cool for 10 minutes.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, make small holes all over the surface of the cake. Pour 8 ounces of the caramel ice cream topping over the cake, spreading to cover. Let sit until cooled.
Spread the frosting over the cooled cake. Drizzle with the remaining caramel sauce, and sprinkle with the mini chocolate chips and pecans.
