Add A Little Magic To Those Cold Days With This Unicorn Hot Chocolate Recipe

There are certain recipes that just seem to be timeless and try as we might, we are unable to improve on them. One of those recipes is a simple cup of hot chocolate. It seems as if it is the perfect treat on a cold winter day or to enjoy in front of a fire. Improving on a cup of hot chocolate may be possible with marshmallows, but once you see the recipe in this video, you will know that hot chocolate has been taken to the next level.

The recipe is known as unicorn hot chocolate and it’s a wonderful way to treat your children or some adults with a little bit of winter magic. The colourful nature of the hot chocolate is one that you will appreciate but the taste is just as delicious as any of the cups of hot chocolate you enjoyed in front of a fire.

The pink hot chocolate recipe is topped off with some colourful marshmallows. You can then add some whimsical straws to improve on the overall look of this fantastic treat. Try this once and you will return to it time and time again.

Ingredients:

4 cups milk
1 cup white chocolate chips or chopped white chocolate
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Pink food colouring
Pinch of salt
Multicoloured mini marshmallows, confetti sprinkles, bright pink pearls to garnish (optional)
Whipped cream

Directions:

In a medium sauce pan, heat the milk, chocolate, vanilla and salt over a medium-low heat, whisking continuously until the mixture is smooth. Do not bring it to a full boil.

Remove from the heat and add a few drops of pink food colouring and mix it in.

Pour into your mug and top with whipped cream, mini marshmallows and sprinkles to your hearts’ content!
