How To Make That Magic Chocolate Sauce To Pour Over Your Ice Cream

Way back in the day when I was young and healthy and weighed a lot less, I hasten to add there was a huge craze for this special type of chocolate sauce. I can’t remember the name of it now but it was magical, at least to my eyes as a kid.

You basically squirted it out all over the ice cream, for some reason I always managed to squeeze too much out, although looking back, that was probably more deliberate than by accident. When the sauce hit the ice cream after a few seconds it went hard. And then when you went to use your spoon to get some ice cream and sauce, it made this reassuring crack as you snapped through the sauce. There was something really special about it, and yet, I am not even sure if you can still buy it in the shops.
That got me thinking and hunting and eventually I came across this really simple little recipe, ‎for your own homemade variety, and when I say simple, well considering it only has two ingredients you can’t get much simpler than that. And not only that but I am absolutely certain it is healthier than the shop bought sauce, as there is no preservatives or anything like that. All you need is chocolate chips and coconut oil, pretty simple don’t you think? So as the weather starts to warm up, we hope, give this a try, for you, it will bring a chance to reminisce and for your kids a chance to try something truly special.
