Crispy Baked Green Bean Fries Are The Perfect French Fry For The Healthy Eater

There are plenty of us out there who are trying to eat healthy and live a healthy lifestyle but that doesn’t mean we want to give up on everything that life has to offer. The fact of the matter is, it is sometimes the simple pleasures, such as French fries, that really make our life worth living.

Thanks to this delicious low-carb recipe, you will not have to give up your French fries but rather, you just need to put this healthy twist on them. They are known as crispy baked green bean fries, and they have all the crunch you would come to expect from a french fry but no deep fat frying! All you need to do is follow the recipe, throw them in the oven and eat them up. Just be aware that they’re going to go quickly, so make extra.

Ingredients:

¾ cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon ranch dressing mix
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon paprika
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
olive oil spray
2 eggs, beaten
1 pound fresh green beans, washed and trimmed

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Combine the breadcrumbs, ranch mix, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt and pepper in a medium bowl.

Lightly spray a baking sheet with the olive oil spray.

Dip the green beans in the egg, then in the breadcrumb mixture to coat.

Place on the baking sheet in a single layer.

When all green beans are coated, spray them lightly with the olive oil spray and place the baking sheet in the oven.

Bake for 10 minutes, then flip them and bake for another 2-5 minutes until crispy. If needed, turn on the broiler for a minute or two to get them really crispy (just be careful not to burn them!).
