Bananas Foster: Now You’re Cooking with Fire!

There are certain treats in life that you should take part in when you get the chance. At times, it will mean going out to a fancy restaurant but in this case, you can make it at home! I’m talking about bananas foster and if you haven’t had it recently, you are going to love this recipe.

Ingredients:
2 firm bananas
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/3 cup brown sugar
¼ tsp. cinnamon
a pinch of nutmeg
a pinch of salt
1/3 cup dark rum
1 pint of vanilla bean ice cream

Directions:
Start by mixing the butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a frying pan. Melt all the ingredients down to create the sauce.

Then slice up your bananas into bite-sized pieces and fry them in the sauce.

Cook the bananas until they’re soft and saucy.

Now comes the best part – you’ll flambe the dish!
Add your rum over the bananas and light that rum on FIRE! (Keep a fire extinguisher nearby just in case)

The fire burns off all the alcohol and leaves behind the spicy rum flavor.

Serve the bananas foster with vanilla bean ice cream.
