We have our choice of many different types of food but something that many of us tend to gravitate toward is soup. In fact, it doesn’t matter if we have a main course or not, it is always enjoyable to have some soup on the side. The problem is, many types of soup are time-consuming to make but that is not the case with this crockpot chicken soup recipe.
Chicken soup is one of those dishes that just seems to put a warm smile on our face. It is the perfect meal when we don’t know what to make and since it is made in the crockpot, it takes no time at all to prepare. Ingredients:
1 large onion, peeled
2 large carrots, peeled and copped
2 celery stalks, chopped
3 chicken breasts
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
6 cups low sodium chicken broth
1 cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1 bay leaf
2 cups egg noodles
Directions:
Add the onion, carrots and celery to the crockpot and then put the chicken in.
Add in the olive oil, chicken broth, salt and pepper, water, rosemary and top with a bay leaf.
Put the cover on and cook on high for 4 hours.
After 4 hours, remove the onion and the chicken from the crockpot. Shred the chicken and add it back to the crock pot along with the egg noodles. Cover it back up and cook for another hour.
