From time to time, we suddenly decide that it is the day that we are going to enjoy some nachos. More than likely, you have your own, favorite nacho recipe and it may even be similar to what you get at your local sports bar. That being said, there are also some excellent options for nachos that really are guaranteed to be a family favorite.
One of the little things that we tend to enjoy when it is in our food are tater tots. We enjoy them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Now it is possible to take those tater tots and turn them into the base for these delicious nachos. This is something that is going to change the way that you feel about nachos but it is not going to change the fact that you love them.
Ingredients:
2 – 16 ounce bags tater tots
½ lb lean ground beef
½ package taco seasoning
3 tablespoons water
1 ½ cups shredded Mexican cheese blend
1 cup salsa
Directions:
Heat oven to 425. Line cookie sheet with sides with foil or cooking parchment paper. Place tater tots on cookie sheet. Bake as directed on bag.
Meanwhile, in a skillet, cook beef over medium heat until cooked; drain. Add taco seasoning mix and water. Cook about 2 minutes.
Sprinkle potatoes with beef mixture and cheese. Bake just until cheese is melted. Top with your favorite nacho toppings!
