Beef Up Your Appetizers With These Slow Cooker Honey Buffalo MeatBalls

We can look at dinner in a number of different ways but if you make it special from the beginning until the end, it is going to be a treat for everyone who partakes of it. That is why it is a good idea for you to look beyond the main course and think about the appetizers. One way to do so is with these delicious slow cooker Honey Buffalo meatballs.

Not only is this a delicious way to make an appetizer, the fact that you are using the slow cooker makes it quite simple as well. It is the perfect combination and once you put them in front of your guests, you will find that they are smiling from ear to ear.

Ingredients:

Meatballs:

2 pounds lean ground beef
2 eggs
1 cup saltine crackers, crushed
1/3 cup dry mined onion
1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/3 teaspoon pepper

Honey Buffalo Sauce:

1/4 cup Frank’s Red Hot Sauce Original
1/4 cup + 1 tbsp honey
1/4 cup apricot preserves
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons reduced sodium soy sauce
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch

Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees and line a baking sheet with foil.

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs.

Add in all the ingredients for the meatballs and mix with your hands until combined

Shape the meatballs and put them on the baking tray.

Cook them for about 8 minutes or until they are lightly browned.

While they cook, prepare your sauce. In a bowl whisk together all the ingredients.

Line the slow cooker with some of your meatballs and then poor the sauce on top. Add the rest of the meatballs and then stir so they are all coated in the sauce. Cover and cook on low heat for 2 hours. Stir about half way through.
