Monica’s Perfect Pizza Tarts Just Might Replace Your Pizza Night

Some recipes are well known and they might be easy to find when you look online. For example, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of ways to make lasagna but not all of them are going to be worth making. Sometimes, it isn’t the usual meal that makes us happy but it is those hidden gems that we love to pile on our plate. This recipe is a perfect example.

The recipe is for Monica’s perfect pizza tarts. More than likely, you have never heard of this recipe and you might have never tried anything quite like it. Once you make it for your family, however, you will see just how quickly they disappear. This is a keeper recipe that can be used for lunch, dinner or even a party appetizer.

Ingredients:

8 puff pastry shells
Half a pound of ground meat
⅓ cup marinara or pizza sauce
16 slices of mozzarella cheese
½ cup velveeta cheese, grated
8 slices of pepperoni
1 teaspoon oregano
1 teaspoon basil
Salt and pepper

Directions:

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Place shells in the oven to cook for about 7-10 minutes, or until starting to turn golden brown.

While shells are in the oven, brown your ground meat in a small or medium pan. Add seasoning and remove from heat once cooked through.

Spoon a little bit of marinara or pizza sauce into baked puff pastry shells.

Add velveeta to each shell, then a spoonful of cooked ground meat.

Add a bit more pizza sauce, then top with a slice of pepperoni.

Criss-cross two mozzarella slices on each shell.

Bake shells for 5-10 minutes in the oven (or until cheese has melted), then serve.
