C Is For Cookie Monster Oreos

Although there are many different treats that we may have enjoyed when we were children, there are relatively few of them that carry over into adulthood. One of those treats, however, is something that we may have enjoyed dunking in milk after a long day of school. I’m talking about Oreo cookies and more than likely, you have some in the cupboard right now.

If you want to take your Oreo cookies to the next level, you can dress them up and put them on a plate in front of you or your children. You can do so by making these cookie monster Oreo cookies and they are so adorable, you might not want to eat them. Of course, considering the fact that it is a chocolate covered Oreo cookie, you will dig in!

Ingredients:

One package of Double Stuff Oreos
One bag of candy melts in royal blue
Candy eyes(two for each finished cookie)
Royal blue decorating sugar
Mini chocolate chip cookies (one for as many Oreos you want to dip)

Directions:

Place candy eyes and mini chocolate chip cookies into two small bowls.

Place parchment paper over flat working surface.

Melt candy melts in microwave in 30 second increments, stirring between until melted and smooth.

Dip Oreo in melts and use a fork to lift out. Tap firmly against side of bowl to remove excess candy and slide along bowl edge as you remove it.

Gently slide covered Oreo onto parchment paper. Immediately sprinkle with sugar, and carefully place eyes.

Place a mini chocolate chip cookie in each Oreo’s “mouth”. You may need to wait a little bit until the melts harden up a bit and get sticky.

Allow little Cookie Monsters to harden and then enjoy!
