These Beer Braised Slow Cooker Short Ribs Will Melt In Your Mouth

Although there may be many different meals that we can enjoy, ribs seem to be a favorite of many people. After all, there is something delicious about the flavor that they provide and when they are made properly, there’s no denying that it is a special treat. Of course, you may have tried many different rib recipes before but after you try these Beer braised ribs in the slow cooker, you will be hooked.

Any time we have a slow cooker involved, we have to admit that it is something fantastic for the family. It is also quite simple to make and that is what makes this recipe such a favorite among many people. Try this one for yourself and you will find that you are coming back to it over and over again.

Ingredients:

3 to 3 1/2 pounds bone-in short ribs
3 medium onions, cut into wedges
1 bay leaf
1 bottle (12 oz) light beer or nonalcoholic beer
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp tomato paste
2 tsp dried thyme
2 tsp beef bouillon granules
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
1/2 cup cold water

Instructions:

In a bowl mix together the beer, brown sugar, mustard, tomato paste, thyme, bouillon, salt and pepper.

Line the bottom of your slow cooker with the onion wedges.

Then place your ribs on top and add your bay leaf.

Pour the mixture over your ribs.

Put the cover on your slow cooker and let cook on low for 8-10 hours until meat is tender.

Pull the meat and veggies out of the slow cooker and keep warm.

Pour the liquid from the slow cooker into a small saucepan. Bring the liquid to a boil and then skim off the fat

Add the flour and water and allow it to come to a boil again and stir until it is thickened.

Add some extra sauce to your ribs as desired and enjoy your amazingly tasty fall-off-the-bone short ribs!
