Greet Your Friends with This Strawberry Southern Iced Tea

In the southern United States, hospitality is a way of life. In fact, it is even expected that you are hospitable to your neighbors when they show up at your home. One of the best ways to display this hospitality is by pouring them a glass of southern sweet tea. Not only is it delicious, it quenches the thirst and it is a universally acceptable way to say, welcome to my home.

Of course, you don’t need to have company in order to enjoy the flavor of a nice glass of sweet tea. As far as flavor is concerned, it really depends upon the recipe and this recipe for southern strawberry sweet tea is going to really take things to the next level. Once you make a pitcher of this delicious tea, you will find that it quenches your thirst so perfectly that you are just wishing that somebody showed up so you could share a glass.

Ingredients

3 cups water in pot
6 tea bags
1 cup sugar

7 cups water in a pitcher
1 lemon, juiced
1/2 lime juiced
basket fresh strawberries

Directions

Bring 3 cups of water to a boil.

Add the tea bags to the boiling water and let simmer on low for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes remove the tea bags.

Add 1 cup of sugar and mix to dissolve.

Chop your strawberries and add to a food processor or blender. Puree for 45 seconds. Set aside.

Add 7 cups of water to a pitcher. Pour the tea and sugar mixture into the water and mix to combine.

Add your strawberry puree and lemon and lime juice to the pitcher and stir.

Serve over ice and garnish with fresh strawberries if desired. Enjoy!
