There are certain treats that we may enjoy and we likely indulge ourselves whenever possible. One of those treats is a giant pickle and it doesn’t matter if it is a snack in the middle of the day or one on the side of our dinner plate, it is going to be a welcome addition to our life. This treat takes a normal pickle and turns it on its head.
More than likely, you have never heard of a pretzel pickle Pogo before but you are about to be enlightened. It is the perfect treat for a pickle lover because it takes a pickle, dips it in pretzel batter and cheese and deep fries the deliciousness. Yes, it may be a little bit indulgent but go ahead and enjoy it, you deserve every bite.
Ingredients:
8 large dill pickles
2 cups nacho cheese
8 bamboo skewers
For the pretzel batter:
1 cup flour
2/3 cup crushed pretzels
2 tablespoons sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoons baking powder
2 tablespoons oil
Dash salt
Enough milk to make smooth dough (1-2 cups)
Directions:
Skewer pickles and dip in nacho cheese(fully covered), place on wax paper-lined baking sheet and place in freezer until cheese is frozen.
Mix all batter ingredients until smooth.
Heat fryer to 355 degrees.
Dip cheese-covered pickles in batter and fry until golden.
