Although there may be many different types of treats that we enjoy, it is often the combination of peanut butter and chocolate that causes people to smile from ear to ear. Perhaps that is why Reese’s peanut butter cups are some of the most popular candy bars that exist. If you are somebody that just can’t seem to get enough of Reese’s, this recipe is going to be something you love.

Reese’s peanut butter cups are always going to be popular but this recipe makes them even greater than the ones you find wrapped in orange at the store. After all, the name of the recipe really is descriptive of what you receive. It is yummy and we know it is a treat that your family will love. Be sure to make 2 so that there is some left over for you to enjoy

Ingredients:

1 chocolate cake mix
1 egg
1/2 cup butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
16 regular sized peanut butter cups, frozen and unwrapped
1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup peanut butter M&Ms

Directions:

Combine the cake mix, egg, butter, and vanilla in a mixing bowl. Mix until a soft dough forms. Press half the dough into an 8×8 baking dish that has been sprayed with nonstick spray.

Arrange the frozen peanut butter cups over the top of the dough. Press the rest of the dough over the tops of the peanut butter cups evenly.

Drizzle the sweetened condensed milk over the top of the dough. Sprinkle with the Reese’s Pieces. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They will look undone but trust me, they’re done. Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares. Store in a sealed container, no need to refrigerate!
