How to Accurately Measure Flour

Many home cooks have one set of measuring cups and spoons, but those wanting to improve their baking should have two sets. One set should contain cups with a flat rim and no spout for dry substances, and the other should be clear glass or plastic containers with a spout for liquid materials. Small measuring spoons may be used for either dry or liquid ingredients.

When it actually comes time to measure, make sure to level off dry ingredients after filling your measuring cup or spoon. For liquids, it’s important to place the cup on a level surface and view the desired measurement line at eye level.
