Apples As an Appetizer? Yes Please!

Apples are a rather versatile dessert but many of us tend to either make them into a pie or pick one up and take a big bite out of it! Unfortunately, apple pie can get a bit rough on the waistline and at times, we want to enjoy a an apple that isn’t raw. That is where this unique recipe comes in.

Rather than turning something healthy into a fattening dessert, you can enjoy these lovely baked apple chips. They are super simple to make, as they only have 3 ingredients and once they are on the table, they will disappear like magic!

You’ll Need:

2 tablespoons white sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
4 Granny Smith apples, cored and sliced into thin rounds

How to make them:

Preheat oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Whisk sugar and cinnamon together in a large bowl. Add apple slices and toss to coat. Arrange apple slices in a single layer on prepared baking sheets.
Bake apples in the preheated oven until browned and just crisped, about 2 hours. Cool completely.
