Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It gives you energy for the forthcoming day and gets your body’s metabolism started again. Unfortunately many people choose to skip breakfast, whether due to time constraints or misguided attempts at weightless, or simply due to the fact they are bored with the options. It is really important especially for our children that they don’t go off to school on an empty stomach.

Pancakes have long been a favourite for me, but even they can become boring day after day, after all, there are only so many syrups, or sugar or other toppings to apply. This recipe for today, might add at least one alternative to your options, and if the old saying that an apple a day keeps the doctor away has any truth to it, you may well have hit gold with this one.

The recipe is extremely easy to prepare and tastes divine. It also fills you up, but unlike other toppings the apples contain natural sugars and other healthy nutrients so this is actually a relatively healthy alternative, compared to some.
