Enjoy The Sweet Crunch Of These Candied Walnuts

How many times have you ever been sitting around, wondering if there was something sweet to snack on? For many of us, it is a downfall that sends us scurrying to the nearest candy bar or that leftover cake in the refrigerator. Although those may be a quick fix, there are times when you want to take your sweet tooth to the next level. That is what these candied walnuts are designed to do.

Candied walnuts are one of those simple pleasures in life that most of us do not enjoy nearly as often as we should. The fact of the matter is, however, they are extremely easy to make and all you need to do is throw them together. Before you know it, this treat is going to be ready for snacking and you will find it is perfect for the middle of the afternoon or that quick binge in the middle of the night.

Ingredients:

1 cup of halved, de-shelled walnuts
1 tablespoon of butter
¼ cup of white sugar
1 teaspoon of water

Directions:

Prep a baking sheet with wax paper and place it next to your stove with some tongs or a spatula handy.

In a non-stick skillet, add your sugar, butter, and walnuts.

Over medium heat stir constantly until you ingredients begin to melt.

Once you start seeing the caramel brown, add in your teaspoon of water.

Nuts will be deep golden brown, and sticky – immediately transfer to the baking sheet and separate them in one layer to keep them from sticking together.

Allow nuts to cool for 10 minutes, and store in an airtight container.
