Leopard Print Bread That Will Knock Spots Off Everything Else

Leopard print has long been a favourite of clothes designers worldwide. Imitating nature is the biggest form of flattery and for so many years leopard print has been a pattern of choice for many women.

Imagine how cool it would be especially for the kids if you could have leopard print bread. Well now you can and surprisingly, not only does it look amazing, it also tastes fantastic and is super easy to make. Follow the recipe and the video below to make your very own jungle inspired bread. I can guarantee that it won’t just be the kids that love it, everyone will be talking about it.

What you’ll need:
2 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour or bread flour
4 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp instant dry yeast
1 cup milk
1 1/2 tbsp butter, melted.
2 3/4 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
3 tsp milk
2 drops black food coloring

What You’ll Do:
In a large bowl mix the first 6 ingredients until a dough ball forms and knead by hand.
Remove 11 oz of plain dough and place it in a greased bowl, cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size. Add cocoa powder and milk to the remaining white piece and knead together. Remove 4 oz of the chocolate dough and do the same. Take the remaining dough piece and add black food coloring, then repeat earlier step.
Once all three dough balls have doubled in size, remove from bowls and divide as follows. For each color, roll out 7 balls of dough, two slightly larger than the rest.
Take a small chocolate dough piece and roll it out into a thin oval shape. Take a small dark dough ball, roll it out flat so it is the same length as the chocolate piece and about twice as wide. Wrap the flat dark piece around the chocolate log shape.
Roll out a small white piece until it is as long at the chocolate/dark piece (hot dog) combination and at least 2 1/2 times as wide. Wrap the flat white piece completely around the “hot dog” piece and seal all the edges. Roll this piece out on the counter until it is about twice as long as the bread pan. Cut the piece in half.
Continue in this fashion with all the pieces, making sure you roll up a small piece with a small piece, a large piece with a large piece.
Once they are all rolled out and cut in half, place the pieces randomly in a greased bread pan. Cover loosely with GREASED plastic wrap and allow to rise until doubled. Bake at 350 F for about 20-30 minutes until golden brown and until it sounds hollow when you tap gently on it.
Cool for 10 minutes, then enjoy! Be sure to show off your masterpiece to all your friends!
