Make Dessert Sweet With These No Bake Almond Joy Bars

When you’re making any type of dessert, there are a few things to keep in mind. Many of us will want to make something that is not only sweet, it is absolutely delicious. In addition, we want to choose a recipe that is easy to make. Fortunately, those three factors come together quite nicely in this no bake Almond Joy bar recipe. Make it once and your family is going to ask for it again and again.

One of the nice things about this recipe is the fact that it doesn’t require any cooking. Simply follow the step-by-step instructions that are outlined below and before you know it, you will be in dessert Nirvana. Your family is going to love them and if you serve them to your dinner guests, they will thank you over and over.

Ingredients:

For the crust

1 cup almond meal
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon melted coconut oil
1/4 teaspoon pure almond extract
pinch of salt

For the coconut filling

1 cup shredded unsweetened coconut
3 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons coconut oil
1 tablespoon water

For the chocolate topping

1/4 cup cocoa powder
1/4 cup melted coconut oil
2 tablespoons maple syrup

Directions:

Start by lining a loaf pan with parchment paper.

First prepare the crust by combining the almond meal, maple syrup, coconut oil, extract and salt in a bowl until it forms a sticky dough.

Press it into the bottom of the loaf pan and set aside.

In a bowl mix all the ingredients for the coconut filling before spreading it over the the almond crust.

Mix the chocolate topping ingredients with a whisk until it is mixed and pour it over the coconut, careful spreading it over the entire surface.

Set it in the freezer to firm for about one or two hours.

Pull the parchment paper out to release it from the loaf ban and cut into slices. Serve them directly out of the freezer so they don’t soften.

If you manage to have any left over you can store them in an airtight container for a few months so you can have Almond Joy bars any time you want!
