This Is As Close To A Six Course Meal As Willy Wonka Ever Got

I always remember being fascinated by the movie ” Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory” One of his not quite perfected ideas was a stick of chewing gum that as you ate it, was in essence, a full course meal. So on your first few bites, it tasted of a starter, then a main course and finally a dessert. Now obviously this was a work of fiction, but the idea and concept always fascinated me and has stayed with me into my adult life. Whilst this might not quite be the same as Willy Wonka’s idea if you will allow me a little poetic license, it is like a six-course meal all at once.

And for my regular readers, you won’t be surprised to know that it involves my favourite cooking tool, the slow cooker. The really clever twist to this meal, is that rather than the usual throw everything in and let it cook itself concept, this is a much more focused and deliberate idea. You basically build up layer upon layer of different foods, that obviously blend together well, almost lasagne style, so that when you take a bite you get six different flavours at once. This provides an easy to cook meal fully of hearty goodness.
