When it comes to snacks, it seems as if Chex mix is near the top of the list for most of us. After all, it can be a savory snack, a sweet snack or perhaps even the salty snack. It may even be the combination that really makes you love this treat. Now it is possible to make your own but to do it in a way that makes it even more special.
This recipe is for Rainbow Chex mix and it really adds color to a treat that we may have enjoyed for the majority of our lives. It is easy to make, so you can have it ready for your family in no time at all. Try making this one for your children or just as a little snack for yourself. In either case, you will love it.
Ingredients:
1 (10.5 oz.) bag Cinnamon Chex
1 (9 oz.) bag waffle pretzels
1/2 cup each candy melts in red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple
1/2 cup M&Ms
1/2 cup M&M minis
Rainbow nonpareils
Large rainbow jimmies
Directions:
Spread Cinnamon Chex and pretzels on a large parchment-lined baking sheet.
Arrange candy melts in rainbow order in a 9-inch microwave-safe baking dish.
Microwave on High in 30-second bursts until candy becomes soft and melted. With a spoon, gently stir each color to soften.
Drizzle over pretzel mixture. Sprinkle with candies, nonpareils and jimmies.
Once the candy melts have set, gently break up the mixture into bite-sized chunks. Serve and enjoy!
